Finally, after several long drawn out months we have completed the upgrade to this blog. We have added all of the following plugins Do Follow, Comment and Keyword Luv. We have added all of these plugins to make our blog a friendly place to comment.

It is part of what we have been calling Scratch My Back Marketing.” The idea here is that you scratch our backs with use comments of at least 150 characters in length. We then scratch your back with useful Do Follow Anchor Text links. If you are a blog owner with an RSS feed enabled you will get an extra link.

We now are using the Scratch My Back Marketing plugin. It is an anti spam plugin. It has been developed to halt what is commonly known as drive by comments such as “nice post” or “thanks for the link.” I have been wanting this plugin for about six month and now. It is here for Beta testing. It will soon be available on WordPress.

Whose back are you scratching?

We at Tucson SEO Solutions are officially requesting that you join the conversation here. That is, if you found that this post was at all interesting, useful, or perhaps you are just looking for a useful link. Then, I would like to entice you to comment by providing you with useful backlinks as part of what I call “Scratch My Back Marketing.”

We are now using the Scratch My Back Marketing plugin. This anti spam plugin simply requires that your comment be at least 150 characters in length or it is automatically rejected. It’s that simple. We are now forcing commenters to do what we were requesting for months on this blog! The blog also uses Keyword and Comment Luv. Please note that if you only include keyword your comment may be used put you will not obtain a link!

The Scratch My Back Marketing requires you to scratch this blog by leaving a useful comment. We then will provide you with an anchor text Do Follow Link. It’s all about win/win marketing. I am willing to exchange page rank for the bump that a fresh comment provides.

Are you ready to exchange comments for links?

This is the part where I move link juice around the site and hope that someone might actually want to learn more about our local small business solutions and venture further.

Oh, Bye The Way Did I Tell I Have Given Up On Blogging For Links

September 25, 2009

For those who are new to this blog let me get you up to speed here. I have been a very big proponent of blogging for links. As with everything I am always multi- tasking. I endeavor to do multiple tasks at once. I like to consider it working smarter. When I would be blogging for links (leaving comments on other blogs to acquire backlinks) I would also be working on branding, networking, and learning.

Leaving blog comments solved four various elements of my marketing plan. I especially enjoyed the learning part of link building. I then would share what I learned with my readers. However, it has become increasing difficult for me as an SEO to get my comments past spam filters. Many blogger’s consider anyone that uses SEO as an anchor text for their comment links to be a spammer.

It didn’t make any difference that I was providing lengthy useful comments because I was using SEO in the name field the spam filters automatically rejected me. On occasion someone who would rescue my comment from a spam filter but not often. With this in mind, I did a little experiment where I made 100 posts and recorded the url’s. I went back a week later only to discover 43% of my comments had been approved. I was very careful to leave good comments and to follow comment policies.

That is not what I would call a very effective link building experiment. So I thought about this for a little while and I decided to go another direction. I now almost exclusively build link on high Page Rank social media sites and I am glad that I do. If any of you have followed this blog you will likely already know that this site ranks on the first page of the Google results, as in 50 times.

That’s right, I report at the beginning of each month the sites rankings. The last time that I checked back on September first we ranked on the first page of Google for 50 keyword phrases. Some of these are not very competitive but they still are niche markets that we target. Then again, many of these results are in extremely competitive markets. The key to this success was abandoning blogging for links.

When I decided to abandon blogs the site ranked 31 times on the first page of Google. Two months later that number is at 50. Over the last two months I have almost exclusively used Web 2.0 social media sites for link building. I usually leave a site with 5 or more links. The process is extremely easy if you are prepared. I simply take what the site offers in the profile area. Then I add value to the site through blog or forum posts and comments. I take the time to do it right!

I have many blog posts covering multiple topics ready in advance. The key here is to provide quality and not spammy posts. I close all posts using a signature as if it was a formal business letter. It includes a tag line. That’s where I add my links, into the tag line. As long as you are adding quality material that goes along with the sites theme you are generally not going to have any problems.

I have used this method thousands of times and only once did I get a complaint. That site banned me for putting links into my profile although they didn’t have a policy that prohibited this at that time. I got in trouble by reviewing the site on this blog. So all a sudden a whole bunch of people are doing the same thing. OOP’s!

That’s my method. The real beauty of this is that you are not visiting a blog hoping to find something to comment about. You pick the topic hopefully something that is related to your business and the sites theme. Many of these social sites provide you with a blog or they have a forum. When I discover these I begin to grin. This all goes hand in hand with my marketing approach, Scratch My Back Marketing. If you help other people building links is easy. It still requires lots of time but it can be a joy rather than dull boring work.

What do you think about this? I would like to hear from you.

Do Follow Lists And Their Demise

September 24, 2009

We launched this blog back in May of 2008. As a promotion and as a way to give back to the blogging community we immediately started working on our categorized lists of Do Follow Blogs. We would eventually grow these lists to around 320 blogs by July. By August we had added a Do Follow forums list that grew to 220 sites.

The forums list eventually got us pegged as spammers by a SEO forum owner. The owner of that forum had used some language in a comment that I had deemed inappropriate. I made the mistake of calling him out on this in an a personal email. This person had made several comments previously so I took the time to explain that his comments were appreciated but just not his language.

The guy responded buy calling me out on as forum as a spammer. Then almost in an instant there was a small group of blogger’s bashing me on their blogs and on various forums that I was using. It was an ugly week for me. It made no difference that the post which included the new list talked about adding valuable and not spamming. It was as if I were aiding and abetting the enemy.

In retrospect, I can more clearly understand there position. Even though my intentions were pure I was providing spammers with easy access to Do Follow forums. Many, no make that most of these visitors ignored my pleas to leave valuable content. They were using my sites information to spam these forums and blogs. Of course, not everyone was a spammer but enough were to create problems.

What amazed me most about these differences in opinions was that many of these attacks were personal. One forum moderator even published some of our whois information and called this sites owner out by name. Not only was that wrong it is dangerous behavior and the person whose named was mentioned is not the person who authors the blog. I tried to be reasonable with these people to no avail. I just finally choose to ignore them and things eventually quieted down. However, that forum thread bashing us still sends about 35 visitors a month here and its been almost a year. The bounce rate for this traffic is 100%.

Despite some bumps along the way we took a lot of pride in updating and maintaining our lists. They were a superior product compared to the mish-mash of lists that where available at the time and today. Actually, I have yet, to see another site that broke these sites by category.  Soon it seemed like these lists were everywhere, but most of them were not of much help because they were not maintained and were full of no follow blogs.

Our lists were mentioned in over 50 blogs and forums and they generated up to 35% of our over all website traffic. However, only a very small fraction of these visitors ever left a comment that wasn’t spam. These visitors used the lists often to spread comment spam. No matter how often we pleaded to leave useful comments it just wasn’t happening.

By April of 2009 the blog list had shrunk to less than 90. Most of these blogs switched back to No Follow. Now, that I removed the lists from this site I am getting lots of comments. Mostly still thanking me for the great list that do not exist. Then recently, this story was used in an article by Aaron Wall of SEObook.

Aaron was making a point about offering things for free and he used my experience as an example. I never thought that I would ever be mentioned on his blog, let alone be an example mentioned in a post. But Aaron’s point is well taken. We both have experienced people ripping off our content for profit and these people are often the first to complain.

I was amazed to learn how many people rip off  SEObooks content on a daily basis. This blog has received 16 trackbacks from blogs that stole his content from this one article. These blogs send out their trackbacks to all sources mentioned in the article. They then hope to get a link back from me. I have posted many of these trackbacks without a backlink to these sites and include an explanation of what is occurring.

The end result of this activity on this post is that it forces the post higher in the search rankings for Do Follow blogs. Its crazy that by removing the lists I get more useful comments then when the lists were available. It is really was upsetting that we had but so much effort into a project to have mindless selfish people destroy it.

I truly do regret that my lists may have had a negative impact on some blogs. What really pushed me over the edge was when a niche product marketer directed his clients to use my lists. He had the gall to comment that he encourage his clients to leave useful comments. The problem was they were not making comments. Their comment rate was .003%.

The other major problem was the huge amount of people that lied about their blogs status. I wasted a 4 – 24 hour days  (96 hours) over the last year visiting blogs to verify requests only find that I had been deceived. Yes, that’s a whole bunch of bogus requests.

What these lists did was shed light onto the unsavory world of unethical link building. When Google forced the issue of buying and selling links in 2007 it only greased the wheels of comment spam and it didn’t need any encouragement. Since Google began playing hardball over the buying and selling of links it has become increasingly more difficult to obtain links. Rather than working longer hours to build links many website owners opted to take the low road called comment spam. There actions hurt us all.

The sad things is that the Do Follow lists were written up on so many blogs, yet, our ethical link building efforts have been mostly ignored by other blogger’s, especially those who got reviewed, but then there was that reddened faced man with the gray/white beard. He didn’t like his review and he has been waging a comment war ever since.

Update: 06/04/2008

Since I wrote this post I have heard from several individuals who claim to have purchased the program, Niche Blueprint. They all claim that they were directed to add value through useful content. So I will give them credit for that. The fact is that we did the same and while some listened and did what we asked most did not. They certainly did not feel obligated to leave useful comments here. So I doubt that they then went to other blogs and left useful content.

I freely admit that I did not appreciate fully the importance of comment quality until I became a blog owner. There were a few short comments along the way late at night when I was tired. These were the exception, as I like to share my wisdom, but I myself am not without stain here.

What I decided to do was encourage what I call Scratch My Back Marketing that focuses on leaving a quality comment in exchange for links. That’s what the 109 Day Link Building Program was all about. It emphasizes networking and branding while link building. This program focuses on the long term strategy rather than short term gain.

I hope to create a core group of blog owner and social networking sites that believe as I do. If you have a Do Follow blog that is updated regularly with original content or a social networking site please contact me for further details. This site is scheduled to go live on or about September 15th. The 109 Day Link Building Explosion will morph into the 120 Day Link Building Explosion. It will appear on a membership site that will be free for bloggers that have an active Do Follow blog with comments.

It’s Still SEO – The Long Tail

September 22, 2009

There are a lot of ways to look at SEO or search Engine Optimization. It all depends on your perspective. A professional may talk about organic or natural SEO where as the general public might actually just refer to SEO. I like the niche versions of SEO. They are more likely to be less competitive and if you have been around here you know that I prefer Niche Markets. In fact, the site currently ranks both #1 and #2 for Niche SEO. We also rank well for Niche Search Engine Optimization.

I point this out not to say we’re great at SEO, but to get you to think in broader terms about your own niche markets, or how that you can be competitive in your own markets. I previously managed a website of a manufacturer. This company sold dust collection equipment but not just any dust collection equipment they manufactured industrial equipment, or industrial dust collection equipment.

This company wanted to land on the first page of Google for the search dust collection. When I took a look at the market I consider this an unrealistic goal. The reason was that this term covered several industries and not just one. They were competing with home units and vacuum cleaners, as well as with their own market. I reasoned that industrial dust collection would be a more realistic goal, and it was. Their site easily soared to the # 1 spot for this keyword phrase with Google. Amazingly, I was actually able to get them high up onto the first page of the Google results for just dust collection. This beat my own expectations.

You can likely do the same in your markets if you go after what is known as the “long tail” of search. This means that you are going to go after keyword phrases that contain three or more words. Yes, there will be much less competition for these keyword phrases but the longer the tail the more likely this the visitor is a hot lead. If someone has entered industrial dust collection equipment, that person is more likely doing serious research rather than just killing time. These are the folks that are doing serious searching with intent to purchase.

Tucson SEO provide SEO service professionally so we are more likely to try to define a smaller niche within the SEO industry. Like any good SEO we could rely on our keyword development skills to create long tails for our keyword phrases that define us best.

In our industry some people go after Organic SEO or Organic Search Engine Optimization, and others will add location into the mix, as with Tucson Search Engine Optimization. When you go local it is sometimes called local SEO or Geo-targeted. These are areas that we specialize in.

Here are some other ways to define Search Engine Optimization or SEO. I have already mentioned Local SEO and Niche SEO. Then there is Geo-targeted SEO. I could have easily referred to Geo-targeted as well as Geo-targeting. In reality Geo-targeting appears more often in the Google search results, but I target them both. Essentially it is just another expression for local SEO.

Here are a few more to terms to  consider such as SEO services, SEO Solutions, or perhaps Business SEO. The tail could grow to include Small Business SEO Services. I think that you may be getting what I mean here. For us there is a huge pool of perspective clients who need our services yet they have no idea what SEO is and many have likely never even heard of the term Search Engine Optimization. Yet, these people understand marketing, they have a website, and they use the internet and most of their business is local. To reach these potential markets we peruse long tails such as local internet marketing services. This is a search that is more likely to be used by our clients since we target small businesses.

The hardest part about SEO is trying to determine what your target customer might actually use when searching for your product or services. You can try using all the keyword tools in the world and still can come up short. Keyword tools only respond to what you enter into them. If you don’t enter the proper keywords to begin with these tools are of little value. Finding your most effective keywords requires the ability to understand how your target audience thinks and that’s where these tools often fail. The best solutions is to do focus groups of real people (potential clients) and ask them what they would use to search for to find your websites business online. Now, with this information in hand you will stand a better change in the search traffic game.

So let me ask this, could you use good some long tails?

For those who are new to this blog let me get you up to speed here. I have been a very big proponent of blogging for links. As with everything I am always multi- tasking. I endeavor to do multiple tasks at once. I like to consider it working smarter. A What’s New Update

September 19, 2009

I thought it was time to give an update at what’s going on at Tucson SEO. We are just about ready to launch our new plugin that I have named Scratch My Back Marketing. I had requested that commenter’s leave a comment of 20 minimum to get a link here. This request appeared at the end of each blog post for about 8 months. This request was blatantly ignored. So I created this plugin that forces commenter’s to leave a comment of 150 characters in length.

The site has been testing it for about 3 weeks. It has stopped the short “nice post” type comments completely. However, spammers are onto the plugin and are now beginning to Exploit it by leaving huge amounts of periods or other symbols instead to defeat the plugin. It doesn’t work as the blog is moderated, but it does require that I delete the comments. I had expected this reaction and we will be updating the plugin to deal with this development.

I have a new technical person who built the plugin for us and I want to give Pablo a shout-out for his great work. On another front we have run into some development delay in launching the Scratch My Back Website and the Do Follow Network sites. We have also opted to create a third site. This site also will be marketing Do Follow resources.

Along with developing these sites I have picked up some new clients that are also demanding my time and attention. I am definitely not complaining here. I just wanted to explain why I haven’t been blogging lately.

Is It Time To Bo Do Follow… Again?

September 6, 2009

I recently wrote about appreciating your blog readers and suggest that it is safe to be a Do Follow blog again. That made for some very interesting conversation both on and off the blog. We all know that all blogs get spam and it is especially bad for those blogs that provide Do Follow links.

I explained that much of the problem was not so much from individuals leaving comments but it was bots that were the problem. There are many lazy link builders around and they are not going away anytime soon. There are also many paid link builders from low wage counties cluttering our blogs with useless comments. This problem now has and answer. When you leave a comment here you now must leave a comment of that is at least 150 words in length or it gets rejected automatically. I am calling this plugin the Scratch My Back Marketing plugin.

For the last six months or so I have ended each post stating that you must leave a 20 word comment to be considered for a link. This was ignored everyday by link builders who visited the blog. So now, we have forced the issue. No longer will I have to waste my time deleting short comments that I like to call drive by comments.

I also use the spam filter Akismet and found that it was always full of spam. So much so that I dumped it all. I knew from experience there were useful comments in there but it wasn’t worth it to me to preview hundreds of spam comments everyday to find a few good comments. I know that I am not alone here. I am talking about 350 spam comments a day!

So after reading several posts about the spam filter plugin, Bad Behavior I had it installed. Then I took at look at the number of spam comments per day prior to using Bad Behavior. The spam comments on a good day were 113 on the worst day it went as high as 497. That’s a lot of spam.

The day before I installed Bad Behavior the blog had 444 spam comments. That dropped down to 16 the following day. I can easily deal with this amount of spam comfortably, in fact I now pull 3 or 4 comments out of the spam filter each day. Those 3 to 4 comments were being lost each and everyday. That is potentially 100 fewer comments per month!

Over the last two months the spam has been as low as 5 and as high as 32. Now, those are numbers that I can live with. This isn’t a perfect solution but it’s a reasonably good one. We have also included a 20 word comment requirement to obtain a link from this blog.  We have managed to become Do Follow without the Do Follow spam problem.

Well, I then upgraded my plugins and Bad Behavior would no longer work with the newer version of the Redirection plugin. So I switched to using the Tan Tan Noodles plugin. This plugin turned out to be even better than the Bad Behavior plugin. It has absolutely removed all the auto bot spam. The only spam that ends up in Akismet now are from blogger’s on our black list. If you have a WordPress blog you can blacklist email addresses in the Discussions area under settings.

What I am suggesting here is this, when we release the Scratch My Back Marketing Plugin it could be combined with Tan Tan Noodles and Akismet for a killer anti spam approach. It will then be safe to become a Do Follow blog. The reason that most blogs are not Do Follow is because of spam. These three plugins will provide your blog with lots of protection.

Is it time that you you went Do Follow?

The Hassles Of Getting Your Content Stolen

September 5, 2009

Owning a popular and successful website can be a lot of fun. It can also be a lot of work. Then again, It can also be a real big hassle. Today, out of the blue I got a feeling that my content was getting ripped off… again. So I clicked over to Copyscape which I have written about previously on this blog. Copyscape searches the net for possible duplicate content issues.

I have previously discovered stolen content using this site. Then I would later file a DMCA take down report on one offending site. Well, today I found that someone had created Tucson SEO Solutions on Blogspot. Someone was using a Google blogging site to rip off my company name and the content of my home page. Google doesn’t much respect trademarks but it does address stolen content or I sure hope so.

Copyscape also located a Tucson based design company was ripping off my content in adds that they were placing on Backpage .com. I called and left Michael of (deleted – he apologized info removed) and left a message requesting that he stop what he is doing. It’s only a few lines but it includes my signature line. One that I am especially proud of.

Update 07/11/2009 Six weeks later Michael has discovered this post which is buried on page three of the Google results. He finally relented and said that he was sorry in an email today. He also seemed confused about the reference to Snowflake in this post and thought it was a racial slur. No Michael Snowflake is a town in Arizona. I was using basic SEO techniques to target the term Snowflake SEO. Any good SEO provider would know this.  Since you don’t understand SEO when you see it how can you then go about selling yourself as an SEO provider. This posts ranks # 5 in the Google results for Snowflake website design. I don’t waste posts Michael I optimize everything that I do.

Update: 07/23/2009 Forgiven! I just hope you learned a lesson Michael! His apology was left as a comment below. He could not bring himself to call or answer his phone when I called. He apologized before in a comment but then he threatened to do it again, if I didn’t remove the post. That’s not what I would call an apology. I am relenting, as he did sound more sincere this time around and I really don’t care anymore. I’ve got plenty of small fires to extinguish elsewhere.

Update 08/22/2009: Well, I recently checked Copyscape and for the very first time it did not show that anyone was ripping off my content. What a relief!

The point here is that you, me, and all of us must protect our content and company name at all times. I read a post a while back that suggested that we protect our business names on all the major sites like Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social sites. I thought it was a good idea but not one that I was ready to implement at that time. I never considered that someone would grab my company name and content and put it on Blogger.

It took a bit of work to figure out how to report someone ripping off your content using Blogger. Trying to contact Google about anything can be a daunting task. After about 20 minutes I figured out the process.

I have already begun the process of creating accounts on many of the major social media sites but that only scratches the surface. Protecting ones name online can be almost a full time job even when you are not being attacked. Think about all the social media sites out there that have blogging capabilities. Now, perhaps, you can get a clearer picture of how big the challenge can be.

I checked this persons other blogs and found that other great sites are getting a similar treatment such as SEOdiva and Bruce Clay along with a few dozen other sites.

As for me, I just don’t get it. I am basically a fairly ethical person and that works well for me. I just don’t get what motivates someone to go after someone else that they have never personally known. When someone does these things for thrills they don’t care about the personal and financial damage that they often inflict. Most of us are small business owners just struggling to stay afloat in these difficult times. We are often not prepared for the cost or time involved to keep on top of things.

Intellectually I understand the thrill and satisfaction they must receive but spiritually and personally I can not. While I don’t believe in revenge I can appreciate the motivation behind such actions. It’s the biblical version of “an eye for an eye.” But just screwing with someone because you can is like a foreign language to me. I can’t understand it.

As for the guy that stolen content for his ads, well that say’s two things to me that he’s not a very good writer and maybe our content is just plain good!

Free Love Web 2.0 Style!

September 4, 2009

Yes, it’s true this post is about Free Luv on the internet and doing it in a web 2.0 style. I’m talking about the juicy kind of Luv that only a Blogger can really appreciate. I’m talking about bloggers hooking up for a linky kinda Luv. It’s all about sharing our inner most thoughts or opinions and being rewarded for them.Maybe we should call it an internet threesome!

I have finally switched my love making method. It’s all about 2 on 1.

What I’m talking about is blogging, marketing, networking, comments, linking, business and rewards. The kind of rewards that come with using the greatest WordPress comments plugin available. I am talking about the Comment Luv plugin that was created by Andy Bailey, a dashing young buck and brilliant Internet entrepreneur and marketer (my description.) This is how he was described over at Retro Heather on her blog “the coolest geek bloke in the universe” and that works as well.

Before I get into the how it works stuff, I want to take a moment to express how much I appreciate Andy Bailey, the plugins creator. There are a bunch of great coders who have created thousands of WordPress plugins, but very few if any provide the support that he offers. The newer versions adds way more features and functionality than the original version. A plugin, after all, is only as good as the support that is offered.

Whenever you start adding plugins to a blog you can often create compatibility issues. I have read many blog posts in the last few months where someone mentioned that Comment Luv had created a problem. Then when I began to read the comments I quickly find a response from Andy where he addresses that specific issue. Usually the problem is being caused by another plugin. My point is that he is actively involved in his user community.

This level of product support is rarely seen at any price. Just think about the last time you needed technical support. It likely wasn’t a good experience. It blows me away that all of this is provided at no cost. He follows-up on new installs and when someone registers the plugin on his site. Andy often is the one of the first to comment that bloggers announcement post. You see everyone announces that they have added this plugin and most of them register it on his Comment Luv website.

This is how it works. Comment Luv creates a twofer link opportunity. It requires that the blogger who is leaving a comment must have a blog with an RSS feed enabled. Comment Luv will then place a permalink at the end of your comment. So the comment will end looking something like this with a permalink that reads “Boris last blog Comment …..”

This encourages other bloggers who are reading your post to leave a comment because they will be rewarded with 2 links for one comment. This allows us to reward other bloggers for taking the time to comment on our blog. We have also decided to become a Do Follow blog. So these links from our site may potentially impact your sites Page and Search Rankings.

Are you ready to spread the Luv?

Comment Luv was removed 01/10/2010. It no longer served it’s purpose.

Are you ready to exchange comments for links?

Comment Policy Update 2009

September 3, 2009

I thought it was time to address the SEO crowd and link builders that visits here often and who leaves comments. I have a very simple policy when it comes to providing links to my competitors. I will not provide a link on this blog that will give you a competitive advantage. This simply would be a foolish business policy for me to provide you with a one way link. However, if you have a blog that does not require me to register I will provide you folks with a link.

Many companies and individuals offers SEO services but they do not have a blog. So I can never acquire a return link if I chose to make a comment on their blog because they don’t have one. This may seem silly to some but this is my bread and butter. If you can not return the favor then I am not interested in providing you with a link.

Our business completes in Tucson, Phoenix, and across the US and Canada. So if you provide SEO services in any of these areas then you are a competitor you will not acquire links from here unless you have a blog. I actually had a direct competitor from Phoenix that started leaving 3 and 4 comments per visit and he visited every few days. The comments were great. However, when I visited his blog he never would approve my comments. That discovery prompted me to delete his comments. I also emailed him to explain my position.

I just thought that it was time to make a formal statement on this subject.

We have created the Scratch My Back Marketing plugin which requires comments to be at least 150 characters in length or about 20 words. Just think of it as a Tweet. If you do not meet this requirement will comment will be rejected!

If you do not properly execute Keyword Luv by using the @ symbol in your anchor text you will not acquire a link and I will use your comment. You simply should know better by now! This is the biggest reason why links are denied here. If all you can do is enter your keywords you will not get a link. I am still amazes that so many people ignore that the site uses this plugin. It’s all about following directions!

No profanity………………! Allowed Even the mildest forms will be deleted.

If you insert links into comments that are self promotion those links will be deleted.

Tucson SEO will not provide links to the following types of sites.

Porno

Gambling

Drugs

New blogs with little or no content (20 posts required with some comments included)

Political sites

One page marketing sites

Foreign language sites

All affiliate marketing sites and blogs that means yours!

If your comment appears to be spammy it will likely be deleted

If you want to be argumentative that will not fly either. Th reality here is this blog is part of my businesses marketing plan. It turns off clients to see arguing on the blog so it is not acceptable behavior. I will gladly let you make your point and I will counter that point. Then the discussion is over. I don’t have the time nor desire for protracted discussions. This isn’t a forum. It’s a blog, and it’s my blog

Finally, for those who like to tell me how to run my blog or business your comments like will never be published.

And that’s that!

The Scratch My Back Marketing requires you to scratch this blog by leaving a useful comment of at least 20 words or more. Your comment should be relevant to the post. My scratch is that you will receive a Do Follow anchor text link (Keyword Luv.) And if you have a blog with an RSS feed enabled you will receive an extra permalink back to your blog via Comment Luv.

It’s all about win/win marketing. I am willing to exchange page rank for the bump that a fresh comment provides.

Guest Bloggers Welcome

September 2, 2009

As I surf around the Internet I read lots of great blogs. Many of them are not directly related to SEO or Internet marketing, but many of them do touch on Internet Marketing.  Specifically, I see a lot of blogs writing about using a Do Follow plugin or how they have monetized their blogs. If this sounds like you then we will extend you an opportunity to speak out on our blog.

There is the potential to generate some blog traffic for your site and to acquire some exposure. We would also like to hear from those of you that have SEO or Internet marketing blogs and who would like to reach a different audience.

During the process of developing and maintaining our Do Follow Blog List we encountered lots really good writers that where toiling in vain. The material was often very well written but not marketed well and lacked comments. So if that sounds like you we would like to extend you the opportunity to be heard. Or what about you, do you have great ideas but you don’t want to bother to build a blog, well now you have an opportunity.

We would like guest posts to be at least 300 – 600 words in length. You are encouraged to provide a short bio if you wish and a link to your website if you have one. We are very much into hearing what you have to say. Here are some potential topics.

How did you get into Internet Marketing?

Absolutely anything about Internet marketing or SEO.

Website reviews.

Product reviews.

Your blogging experiences.

Websites that you hate to use and why?

Anything about WordPress or WP plugins.

Local SEO.

B2B websites.

Web designs.

Current trends.

And good old rants will work just fine.

All you need to do is leave a comment here and we will email you and go from there.

Can You Meet Or Exceed These Search Results – September

September 1, 2009

Can You Meet or exceed these search rankings 0901 2009

It’s the first of the month again and it’s time to report on how well Tucson SEO Solutions has done in the search ranking. This report represents the keyword phrases that we target on a regular basis. Only recently have we began to track certain phrases associated with internet marketing outside of Tucson.

I had discovered by accident, about six weeks ago, that we were ranking well for several keyword phrases that we had not been targeting. I wasn’t sure if what I was seeing was a temporary hiccup in the results or if it was a permanent situation. I decided to work on phrases like local internet marketing and it has paid off. As it turned out what I had noticed was not a temporary situation for these keyword phrases.

On the flip side of things six other keyword phrases had taken a dive and I was very concerned. These phrases are much more important to our business. I target the phrase local SEO on our home page. The site has been ranking # 4 for this search for a long time. Then I edited the home page and this phrase dropped the next day down to # 17. I freaked out. I thought that I had done something terribly wrong but I knew that I hadn’t.

I also lost ground, and lots of it, for the searches Niche SEO and Holistic SEO. When I checked all three of these phrases today they all were restored back to their high rankings. I’ve read about this happening to others but I had never experienced this on our site before. There were also three other more local searches that included the Phoenix area and Arizona that had also dropped and they are back as well.

I am an SEO guy and I know that usually these keywords will eventually bounce back, but until today, it was only theory. I had been praying that the results would be restored by the time I was to do this report, and amazingly it was. We rank on the first page of Google for an amazing 49 keyword phrases. Some of these are extremely competitive and some not so much.
