As strange as it may seem I posted my first video on another website… Yea! The downside of this event is that I have yet to figure out how to embed a video on this blog. When I do it will be posted here.
I have been in business over three years and I have finally taken on the video challenge. I tried several times tonight to load a video and I will be calling it a day. I will surely try again tomorrow.
The reason that I have avoided using video is that I really am not a big fan of videos. I have probably watched fewer than 10 videos all the way through that were purely for entertainment. I also am not much of a movie fan either.
I am guilty of having a short attention span. That is also likely why I don’t mind link building. I can go to a site added some content or a comment or two and I am onto the next site. I am also a bit of a workaholic. I have to force myself to slow down and smell the roses that I tend in my garden.
Considering that I have never used video marketing to promote my business I believe that I have done very well without using them. So I am very excited at the potential that video presents.
Well, as you can see there is no video. It was over 14 minutes in length and You Tube only allows for up to 10 minutes for videos. I did not know this. Oh, well it was a test video and not a very good one, but at least I figured out the process.
As I am working on my video database I have become a bit surprised by how much time this project is taking. I wanted to come up with a list of about 100 video sites that allow self promoting in the SEO field. After visiting about 500 sites I have only found about 65 useful sites that meet my needs.
This has been a huge learning curve for me as I was never a fan of video sites. First, I have to learn how to make good videos. Then I must locate sources where I can post them. I need to learn a Google video algorithm. Finally, I need to learn how to promote them. This all takes a lot of time. Actually, its like being a student who is taking a self paced class or classes. I find this all very interesting but time consuming!
