Twitter Is Growing Up V2

If you would like to start with the original version of Twitter Is Growing Up.

Twitter is rolling out its new expanded version. By now, those in the know, know about Twitter being updated. And that this update includes many new features. I for one really enjoy using this latest version. The site has become much more user friendly.

I especially like the new scrolling feature that no longer requires you to click to see more Tweets. I get very busy and I may go, if you can believe this, up to and including all day without checking Twitter. While it has become an essential part of my business day I can often get to busy to check in. Then when I would return to Twitter there would often be three to five hundred tweets waiting . Then as I would go back through these tweets the site would then begin to act up.

The problems began to occur after I had gone back about a dozen for so pages.Twitter would often crash or deliver the results from the bottom of the page first. I found this defect very annoying. But that doesn’t happen anymore. This alone would have been enough to satisfy me but the update went way beyond this.

Twitter also seems to have fixed another problem that I experienced often when attempting to use the Who To Follow feature. It often would offer suggestions but when I would click on the view all link I would often be delivered an empty page. Again this doesn’t happen any more. Plus the site is a lot faster and I haven’t seen that overloaded whale while using the new Twitter.

I am a huge fan anytime a website that I use for business purposes gets better. If this where a football game then I would say the home team just scored a touchdown. In a recent Wall Street Journal article they referred to these changes a Tweaked Twitter. I think she missed the point, it’s more like an overhaul. The noisy internet property that has been at the center of the social media universe is beginning to become a very serious business.

One of the most impressive changes occurred when I tried using the search feature. It now allows you to easily narrow your searchers. The search box now includes tabs for the timeline, Retweets, Searches, and Lists. Did I say I like the new Twitter?

To me it seems like a coming of age thing. I am impressed with what they have done. It remains to be seen if this new site will improve user retention and will it eventually profitable. Or will to suffer the fate of other major internet properties that eventually go out of business. The internet highways and byways are littered with great websites and business plans that are no more.
