Do You Play To Win V 2.0?

Welcome to the Google Places SEO blog at Tucson SEO Solutions.

Do You Play To Win V 2.0?

We believe that the process of search engine optimization will help almost any website soar in the search rankings. Given enough time and resources it is possible for almost any website to rank well in the search results, by that we are talking about the first page of the Google results.

Any successful SEO provider knows that if you go where the crowds aren’t you will be successful. That’s why so much effort goes into keyword research. The huge benefit here is that using long tail search you have less competing sites and that your visitor is now highly targeted and motivated to buy.

A good example of a long tail search would be the search for “increased website traffic Tucson” There is no doubt that the person using this search query wants more traffic to their website and that it has a Tucson customer base.

Update 03/09/2010:

That was a very simple though that I blogged about a few years back but it speaks to my philosophy on Search Engine Optimization or more specifically Google SEO. I always reference Google because they are the search market leader world wide.  About the only market that Google does not dominate is China.

I take a game approach to SEO and I play to win for myself and my clients. This is why we rank for over 90 Keyword phrases (I stopped checking.) It is also why we have never failed to get our clients website onto the first page of Google for multiple keyword phrases.

I often see this business as if it was a professional sports team. And like a professional team we train daily to stay on top of our game. We regularly review our analytic’s to see where we are strong and where we might improve with a little tweak here or there.

We also are constantly manually monitoring where are at the the search results compared to our competitors. If you rely on automated search rankings tools you will only get results on the site that you are monitoring. You will miss out on the big picture in your markets. It is the sport equivalent to reviewing game film. I want to know if we have any new competitors in our markets that may pose a threat to our dominance.

I will always greet new competitors when they appear on the horizon. Some have considered this approach arrogant and that’s ok with me. This is the forth year that we have been the dominate SEO player in the Tucson market. And I intent to keep it this way for a long long time. I play to win. Do you?

Everything that we do has a specific purpose. I never want to be surprised by a competitor and allow them to gain an advantage. I love winning and I want my clients to be in a position to win as well. This diligence is why all of our clients have ended up on the first page of the Google results. If you allow a competitor to sneak up on you they will become embolden and more difficult to dissuade that your market is too difficult to overcome.

In my home market there has been dozens of new competitors over the last year or so. Many of them have already abandoned this market as I am not willing to allow them to gain any traction. Some of these are local and some are from out of town and out of state.

Even one of the long time players here has just about has given up any hope of getting any organic traffic in Tucson. This has forced them to search nationally for visitors by paying for their traffic through Google AdWords. Because we play to win we have never had to use Pay Per Click and we likely never will!

So that’s my story and it can be yours as well in your markets. If you are committed to winning and you do the right things, and if you train well you also will succeed.

Do You Play To Win?

Thanks for the resources that you included at the end of the article. I currently make a living running websites now, but the one thing I truly suck at is building links. The way I’ve gotten by this downfall is by focusing on building just BIG sites with quality content so I get links naturally but I’m currently working on building a network of niche websites so these resources will help out a ton.
