Free Love Web 2.0 Style!
September 4, 2009
Yes, it’s true this post is about Free Luv on the internet and doing it in a web 2.0 style. I’m talking about the juicy kind of Luv that only a Blogger can really appreciate. I’m talking about bloggers hooking up for a linky kinda Luv. It’s all about sharing our inner most thoughts or opinions and being rewarded for them.Maybe we should call it an internet threesome!
I have finally switched my love making method. It’s all about 2 on 1.
What I’m talking about is blogging, marketing, networking, comments, linking, business and rewards. The kind of rewards that come with using the greatest WordPress comments plugin available. I am talking about the Comment Luv plugin that was created by Andy Bailey, a dashing young buck and brilliant Internet entrepreneur and marketer (my description.) This is how he was described over at Retro Heather on her blog “the coolest geek bloke in the universe” and that works as well.
Before I get into the how it works stuff, I want to take a moment to express how much I appreciate Andy Bailey, the plugins creator. There are a bunch of great coders who have created thousands of WordPress plugins, but very few if any provide the support that he offers. The newer versions adds way more features and functionality than the original version. A plugin, after all, is only as good as the support that is offered.
Whenever you start adding plugins to a blog you can often create compatibility issues. I have read many blog posts in the last few months where someone mentioned that Comment Luv had created a problem. Then when I began to read the comments I quickly find a response from Andy where he addresses that specific issue. Usually the problem is being caused by another plugin. My point is that he is actively involved in his user community.
This level of product support is rarely seen at any price. Just think about the last time you needed technical support. It likely wasn’t a good experience. It blows me away that all of this is provided at no cost. He follows-up on new installs and when someone registers the plugin on his site. Andy often is the one of the first to comment that bloggers announcement post. You see everyone announces that they have added this plugin and most of them register it on his Comment Luv website.
This is how it works. Comment Luv creates a twofer link opportunity. It requires that the blogger who is leaving a comment must have a blog with an RSS feed enabled. Comment Luv will then place a permalink at the end of your comment. So the comment will end looking something like this with a permalink that reads “Boris last blog Comment …..”
This encourages other bloggers who are reading your post to leave a comment because they will be rewarded with 2 links for one comment. This allows us to reward other bloggers for taking the time to comment on our blog. We have also decided to become a Do Follow blog. So these links from our site may potentially impact your sites Page and Search Rankings.
Are you ready to spread the Luv?
We at Tucson SEO Solutions are officially requesting that you join the conversation here. That is, if you found that this post was at all interesting, useful, or perhaps you are just looking for a useful link. Then, I would like to entice you to comment by providing you with useful backlinks as part of what I call “Scratch My Back Marketing.”
We are now using the Scratch My Back Marketing plugin. This anti spam plugin simply requires that your comment be at least 150 characters in length or it is automatically rejected. It’s that simple. We are now forcing commenters to do what we were requesting for months on this blog! The blog also uses Keyword and Comment Luv. Please note that if you only include keyword your comment may be used put you will not obtain a link!
The Scratch My Back Marketing requires you to scratch this blog by leaving a useful comment. We then will provide you with an anchor text Do Follow Link. It’s all about win/win marketing. I am willing to exchange page rank for the bump that a fresh comment provides.
Comment Luv was removed 01/10/2010. It no longer served it’s purpose.
Are you ready to exchange comments for links?
This is the part where I move link juice around the site and hope that someone might actually want to learn more about our local small business solutions and venture further.

I’m glad you like the plugin, great write up! I’ll have to remember you when the new commentluv site needs writers! :)
Andy Bailey’s last blog post..Did you know you could use CommentLuv with WordPress & Js-kit?
btw.. if you put
abbr em a img {
float: none !important;
margin: 0 0 0 0 !important;
}
in your stylesheet, it’ll make the little heart stick to the end of the link
Andy Bailey’s last blog post..how to change your js-kit colour scheme for blogger CommentLuv
Adding DoFollow and CommentLuv I think are great motivators for people to get active on your blog. I think that it gives you a chance to hook someone who just visits your site initially for the backlink. But once they see what great content you have, they keep coming back for more.

Hi Savory,
What really sticks out in my mind is this… Not only is this a great plugin but Andy Bailey who created it supports the plugin actively. Thanks!
I’m thinking about adding CommentLuv to my site but have heard it can be a strain on your database. KeywordLuv seems to be a “lighter” application so I may try that one first.
Yes, CommentLuv is great plugin ! Helped me a lot !
I love going to blogs and reading the posts, simple as that. Most blogs have no comments and I think it deprives the blog of a lot of vitality. Of course, no one want the damn spammers but someone wanting a link back isn’t the devil, at least not usually. I have three blogs and I know the problem with the spammers who trash up the comments with ads for every variety of personal products Glad to know someone still thinks relevant commenting is what blogging should be about.
Hi Lexie,
I wanted to thank you for the great comment. It is a sad fact that short sighted people will ruin things for everyone. My ethical link building program gets only a fraction of the traffic and comments as the Do Follow lists.
In a Bernie Madoff kinda of world many people forgot what ethics is all about, but not here.
I have also recently joined the “movement” and it has really helped my blog. My traffic has doubled and the amount of comments has increased 4 fold. I have not yet installed keyword luv but I think I will as it seems to go well with the other two.
Dan’s last blog post..Make Money Online With Highly Competitive Keywords
Well I think this plugin is work better than web 2.0 as far as dofollow link… maybe I’m wrong.. but I will definitely go with comment luv. Good post thanks for the nfo.
Lam’s last blog post..How Do I Start An Online Internet Marketing?
I’m a huge fan of keyword luv, though it may encourage spammers to do what they do best…
great post, i think commentluv is great and it can really help out people in the blogosphere.
Comment luv is a great tool much better than keyword luv as it puts your last blog entry in to effectively doubling the reason to comment! also when you make it 150 characters mimimum i guess it remove the spam like great article comments
CommentLuv is an awesome plugin, and Andy Bailey, the creator, should get the Nobel prize (or at the very least, an Oscar) for creating it.
Just make sure your links are DoFollow, otherwise it’s only partially effective.
I Love dofollow blog with KeywordLuv and commentluv, like this blog.
nice blog…. thanks….its so help me to fine enable dofollow blog

Dofollow blogs are cool but they only matter if they get crawled frequently and have pagerank, 99.99999% of them don’t so it’s not going to affect your serps as much as you might hope.
I have a few blogs and just started a new one using Comment and Keyword luv. They have worked great on other blogs I run and I would like to invite anyone including the moderator to leave a comment luv comment on our newly enabled blog. By using these plugins I have seen a steady march up in rankings on other sites and recommend that anyone who runs a blog should use this tool. It is well worth the time it takes to moderate comments in return for the incoming and outgoing links. Outstanding!

Great post,i like this site
I think I commented on a post about money growing on trees. Since I have owned a plant nursery previously that post caught my eye. Then Comment Luv brings you here. That is so way cool. I have acquired clients this way which is even more cool.

The picture above is grate. I particularly like the dark green trees. The Spanish mission is grate too. the dark blue sky behind the trees reminds me of grate times of when I was a I child. In regards to your 150 character minimum comment to minimize. It too is a grate. I have however had some comments on my blogs which are often very long, but the content not so grate. Sometimes the comment is nothing more than an advertisement or something pertaining to money making scheme and it has nothing to do with the content of the posting. These long comments are often cut and paste as they are obvious advertisements. In any case this is my long comment of fresh content pertaining mostly to your beautiful background picture of green trees, palms, a grate sky, and beautiful mission.

Very cool.. It works great as long as you have decent antispam plugins on the blog. I use akismet along with typepad antispam (slightly modified by myself) and it controls 99% of spam coming through. I’ve noticed a big increase in legitimate comments with both keywordluv and commentluv enabled.
Thanks for doing it on your blog as well :) Very cool.

I like your concept of scratch my back marketing. And also I do agree that Andy Bailey is definitely on top of it. I honestly don’t know how he does it, but he’s always up there making comments whenever his plugin or his name is mentioned. That’s something most bloggers really appreciate.
Be patient, build relevant links to your website and watch your website slowly rank on Google’s first page results. It can definitely be overwhelming at first but once you start out your SEO strategies, you will notice improvements.

I do like commentluv plugin. Unfortunately in my case it is not very helpful as I comment via mobile (it doesn’t link to my post). I thought of bringing this point to commentluv developers. I hope they will come up with some solution.

I admire writer that wrote remarkable articles that are really useful to the readers and bloggers like me for you teaches many lessons and provide endless useful information. Hope to read more from you guys and Thanks a lot for the post! I look forward for your next post.
Man, Tuscon sure looks nice to this frozen Midwesterner. Thanks for the great information on the “Scratch My Back Plugin”. I had never heard of it. Just really getting started with blogging and can’t believe the flexibility offered with all these different plugins.
Tom, I don’t link to affiliate sites.
I do like this plugin a lot, If the comments are moderated it seems to add a lot of discussion to blogs and makes them come to life more. If used correctly opening up a blog or website to do follow lists will create a better user experience and activity, which is very good for alexa rankings that will impact SERP Rankings. Nice Post!
Jake: Actually Alexa rankings have no impact on the SERP’s. It is basically a useless ranking. However, the site can be a great tool if used properly.
This is one of the best post i even seen today, many thanks for this and i was bookmarking your site. Hope to see more article from you in the near future. Thanks for this buddy.
On your point about rising through the rankings, this is one of the reasons that we recommend a blog to all of our clients. Comments, comments like your are considered fresh content and the SE’s love fresh content.
Hi Carla,
