Can Google’s search results be trusted?

May 4, 2008

We just did a search Google search for “niche SEO’ where we are usually in the number # 1 or #2 position bouncing back and forth with Aaron Wall’s seobook website. To our surprise another website www.seosearchbot.com was in the #1 position. So we visited the site.

The website lacked for content and was easy to read, as it is one of those link directories. We used the Ctrl f command and discovered that the word niche didn’t appear on the page.

We then ventured to check out the pages source code. We did another Ctrl f search and again we came up with no results. So why did this website appear in the search results? Does anyone have a reasonable explanation?

Well, before this even got posted the site dropped to the #4 position. I just don’t know how it ever ranked for niche SEO when the word niche never appears!
