Tucson SEO .org Is Not A Tucson Company
There is another player in the Tucson SEO market that I would like to draw attention to today. This company calls itself Tucson SEO .org. So you might get the idea that they are from Tucson but they are not.
The problem is that this company isn’t even located in the United States. The company is from Australia, but since they don’t have any address listed on the site you might not know that. In fact they don’t even use a local phone number. To find out more about the company I watched there video. at the end it indicates the video was produced for a Melbourne SEO company.
I found it interesting that the cityscape was definitely not Tucson and the main speakers voice had a strong Aussie accent. I checked the Google search results and they have landed on page 3 so it’s not likely that they will stick around long. I have seen dozens of these companies come and go over the years. The fact that they didn’t even bother to optimize their pages amazes me further. They have pages called about and Contact Us where pages name also appears in the pages page title.
And they still call themselves an SEO company from Tucson. I am left wondering why they bother. As is, they will never rank well for SEO in Tucson as there site is not optimized. I can only assume that they will use email and PPC to try to access business. This is the worst case I have ever seen where a company claims to be an SEO provider, but they are SEO in name only.

Bad SEO Is Everywhere
I use Google Alerts to track about 3 dozen phrases related to myself and my business. One of these phrases is Tucson SEO. Google emails an alert anytime this phrase appears on the internet. And I got an alert today and this post is about that alert. It is also why this post is title Bad SEO Is Everywhere.
So let’s explore what I found today. I will not be mentioning the company by name but I will be explaining what I found. First off, this Tucson company made a tragic basic SEO 101 mistake. This is how there page title reads Tucson SEO Services | Tucson Web Design I left out the part that mentions the business by name.
There are several problems here that show this companies lack of SEO skill. They used Tucson SEO Services but the proper execution would be SEO Services Tucson. Page Title are extremely important and must be done correctly. Here they have told the search engines that Tucson is the most important subject on their website, but it is not. The most important thing is the service that they provide which is SEO Services. They also use a dividing line that adds no value and they repeated the word Tucson twice. It only needs to appear once and there is no advantage to using it twice.
This is basic SEO 101 stuff, but it is also the foundation of successful SEO. It also represents how real people search for services. Real searchers will simply enter what they are seeking into the query box, in this case, they will simply enter SEO. This occurs about 70% of the time. Then if the searcher doesn’t find what they want they will add a location to their search like Tucson. So now they are searching for SEO Tucson. Real searchers just don’t use Tucson SEO very often.
This is very basic stuff here folks. If you don’t understand how people search you probably should not be offering SEO Services. Here we see again that they are optimizing for Tucson SEO Services and not SEO Services Tucson. So what do you get for $499.00.
Well, not much as you can see here. They offer to optimize 20 pages if done correctly this is a good thing, but we already know they don’t do the most important On Page SEO factor, page titles, correctly. They mention Google Places, Yahoo, and Bing but don’t mention what they actually preform. They mention setting up Webmaster tools but not Google Analytic’s. These are great tools if you know how to use them, but without training they are useless for most business owners.
This is where I get a bit confused as they say that in the set up package they optimize for up to 20 pages, but here it says they will optimize for 1 or 2 keywords. These leaves me confused as each of those 20 pages will have at least one keyword phrase so what is it that they are really doing? Here they have clarified that they optimize for Google Places, Yahoo, and Bing business listings which is a good thing if done correctly.
Here is what you get for $200.00 a month. Here they are optimizing for only 5 keyword phrases which means that many of the pages will not actually be optimized. They are again offering to provide Google Places, Yahoo, and Bing submission but that was already included it the starter package. Submitting to search engines is fluff as well as most of these reports that that refer to here. The Webmaster Tools was also already included.
Not only that but they talk about optimizing for “Tucson Construction.” Again, it should be “Construction Tucson.” I see this kind of stuff day in and day out, and it drives me crazy because it’s most fluff and bad SEO being offered, but the pages lay-out is extremely appealing.
No where on this page does this company ever talk about doing a competitive SEO review. The competitive Review is the starting point for all successful SEO plans. You simply must know what you are up against. You must know what advantages that your competitors have to develop an effective strategy. If your top competitor has 500 good backlinks then that’s your starting goal.
If your talking Google places then you will need to look at how many citations and positive reviews that your competitors have. When you know this you can then develop a plan to overcome these advantages. SEO that is not based on a competitive review is doomed to fail. It’s really that simple.

Heather, Eric, Private Groups, and Facebook Comments
I know this young married couple that runs a website design service here in Tucson. They are very pleasant people. They also run a private Facebook business group that I was a member of until today. That was until they gave me the boot.
And here’s the story behind them kicking me out of this group. You see, they had posted a promotional video about their business in their group. The problem was that the video was supposed to be a joke, but it wasn’t funny. And I thought that it badly represented them.
The video included a white guy wearing a long shaggy black wig. He went on about what makes their design business different from their competitors. The audible portion was done very well. It was very well written and executed. The problem was the guy with the wig detracted from the message big time.
Since I know them, I figured I would mention that they might want to reconsider using such a video to promote their business. I really like their business as they include On Page SEO in their design process.
So I left a comment about the video that they didn’t appreciate. I simply pointed out that the video badly reflected on their business. I noted that if the video was all someone knew about their business that they likely would not do business with them. Read more

Google plus Your World Seems Like A Social Joke
Well, I said it, “Google plus Search seems like a joke” to me. Well, that’s my impression so far. Just about everyone in the SEO world has written something about this topic so now it’s my turn. So what the heck are we all talking about. Well, Google wants to beat Facebook and this is its latest attempt. Below is an example of a search for this business.
The problem as I see it is that I already know about everything that is appearing here so I just don’t see the advantage. Now, let’s take a look at a search for Local SEO Services.
It’s hard to see from this image but nothing new is appearing in my search results except thumbnails of people that I am connected with. For me, I just don’t see the value in what Google is doing. And I am not alone with this opinion.
