Local SEO – Why Isn’t Your Website
Ranking # 1
This is a transcript of a video that I produced to ask, Why Isn’t Your Website Ranking # 1?
The purpose of this video is to cut through the clutter when it comes to understanding SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
This video series has been developed so you to DIY (Do It Yourself)
DIY all the way to the top of the Google search rankings.
I am talking about taking local websites or niche websites.
Going all the way to the number one position in the Google search results.
This is not about using some paid mystery internet marketing program.
No this video series is all about using good old basic DIY SEO techniques.
This video series is intended for the local small business owner with a poorly ranking website.
The material is also well suited for websites that serve niche markets but are not geography defined.
The common thread between that the local and niche website is this.
They both have a lack of competition within their respective markets .
The competition that you might have likely has little or no knowledge of how SEO works.
Your only reference about SEO may be from spam emails so you might already be think negatively about SEO.
After all… You, the local small business owner have been too busy.
You have been busy running your business to pay much attention to your website.
And you are not alone… That’s why I ask…
Why Isn’t Your Website Ranking # 1?
The reality is that your direct competition is likely to be 20 or less websites in local markets.
That’s why I ask… Why Isn’t Your Website Ranking # 1?
As an example let’s consider how many bakeries there are in the Google US index.? (August 2010)
A Google search for Bakery produced around 26 Million results.
A Google search for German Bakery produced around 340,000 results.
A Google search for German Bakery Tucson produced around 17,000 results.
Again I ask … Why Isn’t Your Website Ranking # 1?
How many of these do you think are actually optimized their websites for German Bakery in Tucson?
How many of them do you think are actively involved in a regular link building program?
A well optimized website and some quality backlinks should have most local websites ranking well.
Again I ask … Why Isn’t Your Website Ranking # 1?
If your include your primary keyword phrase for your home pages domain you will have a huge advantage locally.
Now, you’re talking about realistically probability of ranking number one in most local markets.
That is why I ask – Why Isn’t Your Website Ranking # 1?
This video will hopefully lay the groundwork for you ranking # 1in the Google SERP’s.
Too be continued…
