Nice infotmative post, yes usability on a site is of utmost importance because one main reason for building a site is for the visitor to interact with the website, not leave in frustration after not being able to easily find information on the research report.
Improving a website usability isn’t time-consuming and not expensive and of course not difficult it only involves dedication to the task!

I have to completely agree with you on all of these points. I bought a book recently about website usability called please don’t make me think. People really don’t enjoy searching for information and getting frustrated.
I plan on also making a custom category page to make things even easier for people to find exactly what they are looking for.
Usability is a biggie.
